It is the longest game in Turner Field history, which opened in 1997. At 6 hours, 20 minutes -- and counting -- it is the longest game, by time, in each team's history.

Braves catcher Brian McCann strained his left oblique, forcing him out of Tuesday night's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, and he will be placed on the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday. McCann grabbed his left side and lower back in obvious pain after he threw high as Neil Walker stole second base in the 10th inning.

The Seattle Mariners flailed at balls high and low, watched called third strikes and checked their swings too late against CC Sabathia. When they had the bases loaded and none out against David Robertson in the eighth, they swung and missed some more. Mariano Rivera had the same effect: a big zero. All the futility at the plate added up to a 17th straight loss for the Mariners.
