ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- The Texas Rangers placed All-Star third baseman Adrian Beltre on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring prior to Saturday night's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Beltre will be out an estimated two to three weeks.

Ryan Vogelsong already has figured out the easiest way to win with the San Francisco Giants: Just give the bullpen a lead. He's done it better than anyone this season. Vogelsong labored through five innings to regain the National League's best ERA, five relievers combined to throw four scoreless innings and the Giants beat the Milwaukee Brewers 4-2 on Saturday night.

Small ball led to a big victory for the Texas Rangers. Three straight ninth-inning bunts set up Michael Young's winning single as the Rangers rallied for a 5-4 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday night. The Seattle Mariners had plenty of chances to score. As usual during their club record-tying 14-game losing streak, they squandered most of them. The Boston Red Sox gave Terry Francona his 1,000th win as a major league manager with a 3-1 victory behind another strong outing by Josh Beckett and a tiebreaking, two-run single by Jacoby Ellsbury in the seventh inning Saturday night.
