The Chicago Blackhawks have traded defenseman Brian Campbell to the Florida Panthers for forward Rostislav Olesz. The deal was finalized late Friday, after the first round of the NHL draft. The 32-year-old Campbell had 19 goals and 38 assists over three seasons with the Blackhawks. He was the third-highest paid player on the team last season at $7.142 million behind Duncan Keith and Marian Hossa.

James Shields set a goal of throwing complete games this season. He's getting just what he wanted. Shields became the first pitcher in Tampa Bay franchise history to throw three straight complete games and Evan Longoria homered and drove in three runs to lead the Rays to a 5-1 win over the Houston Astros on Friday night.

The Sharks have signed Setoguchi to a $9 million, three-year contract to prevent him from becoming a restricted free agent next month.

The San Jose Sharks acquired the topflight defenseman they had been seeking, sending a package headlined by forward Devin Setoguchi to the Minnesota Wild for All-Star Brent Burns. The Sharks paid a steep price to acquire the 26-year-old Burns, who is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent after next season.
