Blake Griffin offered up a reminder for all those expecting an immediate transformation now that Chris Paul is part of the Los Angeles Clippers. "Not every game is going to be just alley-oop left and right," Griffin said. Griffin, CP3 and Co. are far from a finished product. They certainly showed signs of the talented team this can be on both ends of the floor.

Rodney McGruder scored a career-best 28 points and Kansas State used a big first-half run to beat Long Beach State 77-60 on Sunday and win the Diamond Head Classic. McGruder finished 10 of 11 from the field, including 2 of 3 from 3-point range. He also went 6 of 7 from the line. Will Spradling added 17 points for the Wildcats (10-1).

The Oklahoma City Thunder come into the new season with lofty goals. They looked very much like a contender in their opener. Kevin Durant scored 30 points to help the Thunder win their opener with a 97-89 victory Sunday night over Orlando, a team that has been dealing with Dwight Howard's trade demands since training camp opened.
