Levi LaVallee broke his own world record for distance jumped on a snowmobile by launching 412 feet at the "2011 Red Bull: New Year. No Limits" event on Saturday night. The previous record was 361 feet.

ATLANTA (AP) -- The Atlanta Braves has offered condolences to head trainer Jeff Porter, saying team members were "deeply saddened" after his wife was killed when an SUV driven by the trainer was hit by a Georgia State Patrol cruiser.

Panthers forward Krys Barch was ejected after reportedly directing a racial slur at a Montreal player Saturday night, and Florida coach Kevin Dineen said it was now a matter for the NHL to investigate. Barch was given a game misconduct after a dustup at the end of the first period in Florida's 3-2 win.

It was the Red Wings' second win over the Blues at Joe Louis Arena in five days.
